Well, although I have not been here very often, I am surviving. The past few weeks have been a blur of artistic endeavours. Between making shrines for the Vagina Monologues, creating collages for Outsider Art In A Box, or designing workshops, I think for a while there, I was stranded under a landside of paint tubes and random ephemera.
But I am happy to say, it is behind me. My deadline for Outsider Art In A Box has been met- well, one of them. In the past seven days, I have created 49 miniature collages, optical tin shrines, and altered floor tile collages. They have been boxed, labelled and delivered to Rhonda as of this morning. Dear Rhonda, bless her heart, who totally understands when I say "I just didn't get the whole 60 made, but I have 49 for you". Rhonda totally supports self-care over creativity. Especially when creativity has subtly turned into 'work' instead of self-care.
Now, I have one vendine machine to paint for Outsider Art In A Box that will be a permanent addition at Womyn's Ware on Commercial Dr. I have to have it done before Feb 13th, that shouldn't be a problem. It's already gesso'd and ready to go.
So I have had a chance to update my assemblage here and there, when I needed to work on something fun instead of work. Fortunately, I came across a great stash of old dollhouse furniture, and it is the perfect size for some of the rooms.
This photo shows the overall image of my Soul House, and the images following explain some of my most recent additions, and thought process.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you find time for your version of creativity this weekend!
Peace
