This painting had to be prepared with a foundation, literally like that of a house.

For the three dimensional dragonflies, fairies and flowers, I actually created lifts from cardboard, and then supports, and so on. When I had finished constructing the outline of all of the raised pieces, I then papier mached them onto the canvas. Then gessoing, and painting with acrylics.

People are always intrigued by it being three dimensional, it's unfortunate that I can't share that with you through the photograph.
