*this is one of my favourite pieces of mine. Not just because of the painting, but the period in my life that it represents. I had the privellege of watching three baby crows being raised in my backyard one summer. The related crows would dive-bomb whomever passed through the yard. But they had evidently seen me with my baby, and felt that I wasn't a threat. She and I were sitting on a blanket in the shady backyard one hot afternoon, when the little fluff ball baby crows appeared, being taught how to fly. All within an arm's reach from us. Positively breathtaking and almost spiritual!
