Epiphany

It was recently brought to my attention that most of North America knows more about daily celebrity life and cosmetic surgeries, than we do about World Events.

That was enough to spur me to join Make Poverty History.

In Vancouver, their second annual Make Poverty History rally will begin at the south end of the Burrard Street Bridge at Peace Flame Park. Registration begins at 10am, walk begins at 11am, estimated time of arrival at the Vancouver Art Gallery: Noon.

I urge the socially aware citizens of Vancouver/Lower Mainland to participate and investigate in other means of showing global support to the end of poverty.

We have shelter over our heads, fresh drinking water, toilets, and food. Our children go to bed at night safe, and with full tummies. Let's do something to absolve our guilt and help make the world a safer place for children.

"Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be eradicated by the actions of human beings." ~Nelson Mandela
