After I did the first two coats of watered down white paint, I printed a poem of mine onto a piece of vellum. Carefully cut the words out, and adhered them onto the arches in the front, then continuing the poem along the base. The poem is as follows.
Forlorn:
This girl's need for love
a steady undercurrent
in the ebb and flow of life.
Entranced by unexpected
discoveries on the horizon
She sets forth again.
Refreshed, and foolhardily
determined
to reach mysterious shores beyond.
The powerful pull of the undertow
Grows with each kick,
every paddle, each stroke.
Tiring from effort
she succumbs to the very force
she sought in the beginning:
Herself.
